Welcome to the Royal Artillery Polo website, the team has come along was since being created on Thorney Island in Hampshire in 2007.  With the need for expansion, status and regular funding, HQ DRA granted the team Corps status officially recognising the team as the Royal Artillery Polo Team. The team have the benefit of being based at Thorney Island with its own ponies and an excellent pitch, training facilities and staff.  The team have grown beyond the boundaries of  Thorney island and sees representation from most regiments (Regular and TA) within the Artillery (from as far North as 4th Regt RA located in Topcliffe, N Yorksire – to those located on Thorney Island itself in the form of 12th & 47th Regt RA).   2008 & 2009 saw the team develop until in 2010 five members of the team represented the Army at foundation and senior level (Sgt Britton (f), Sgt Horn (s), Bdr Woodhouse (s), Gnr Delport (f) and Gnr Jackson (f).  2011 has continued in the same vane, with the team growing both in size and experience, and see’s the Army players progressing further still.
